The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is an upgrade of the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. Some reviews say that it is better to wait for the Phantom 5 if you already have the Phantom 4 Pro, but then you will be missing on many improvements that this baby comes with. While the Pro 4 was and still is a very impressive drone, new propulsion and transmission system has been added to the V2.0, and it makes transmission between the drone and your DJI goggles (which you buy separately) seamless. Things like the camera remain unchanged. Phantom enthusiasts who know a good drone cannot afford to not have this one in their collection.
DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Features & Technical Details
This drone looks very much like the 4 Pro and it measures 15.7 by 9.9 by 6.8 inches. It weighs a meager 3 pounds, making it a good drone for traveling, as it won’t add all that extra weight. It has been constructed with titanium and magnesium alloys making it quite a hardy drone, yet very light in weight.
One of the most outstanding features is the OcuSync transmission system that will connect seamlessly to the DJI Goggles. This technology connects seamlessly through the 2.4GHz or the 5.8GHz . The predecessor came with Lightbridge technology that also can switch between the 2.4GHz and the 5.8GHz frequencies. This means that the technology connects to the strongest or the available connection.
The drone also comes with new propellers (9455S), which as you will see in DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 review, it reduces the noise by more than 40 percent. This means that you can fly this drone indoors comfortably, if you have the space. These new propellers can also be used on the older Phantom 4 Pro but while the noise level is going to drop, it may not be as big a drop as in the Pro V2.0.
The drone is enabled with obstacle sensors that help it to avoid collisions from 4 directions. This is a very safe drone to fly even when you are beginner because it is designed to avoid obstacles. It has vision to fly sideways and backwards.
Another marvelous features in this drone is the camera. Here, Phantom does not disappoint at all. It is a 20 MP with 1-inch sensor that can shoot high quality 4K videos at 60 fps. It can also shoot still photographs at Burst Mode, at 14 fps.
You will get better and more clarified video transmission even over the long range, thanks to the more enhanced OcuSync transmission system. Connecting wirelessly to the Goggles, you will get a flying experience such as you have never had before. One of the things that the goggles do is give you a 360-degree view and an incredible FPV – first person view.
The remote controller is very stylish. It has an inbuilt 5.5-inch LCD display. Although it will cost you more, it is much better because it comes ready to use and removes the hassles of downloading and installing the DJI app on your smartphone.
The battery life offers 30 minutes of flight time, much longer than most of the other drones in the market. The flight range is an impressive 7000 meters and it also has a smart return to home feature that signals it to turn back as soon as the battery approaches the end of its charge.
Mostly, apart from the transmission and the propulsion, all the other features remain as in the DJI Phantom 4 Pro.
Short Summary of Feedback from Existing Owners
I love this drone! Being my first drone, I found it so easy to fly and the crash avoidance system always ensures that my drone remains intact, but I am told this will change once I stop flying in beginner mode. I think this is the best thing I ever bought for myself. Samantha R
This drone takes incredible videos and sharp photos. I usually take it to our camping and beach vacations to shoot videos for my YouTube channel. So far, I have been very impressed. I use two batteries to increase the flight time and I am also planning to buy a third one. Orly K.
Although I have the DJI Phantom 4 Pro, I also bought the 4 Pro V2.0 and one thing I have realized is that the noise level is much lower. I have flown both indoors and I can tell you for sure that the latter is quieter. Blake H.
I love the white color. I think it makes this drone look cool. The metal alloy construction makes this drone a long-lasting option for people susceptible to crashing their drone. Jared W.

Who Should Buy DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0?
Mostly, we would recommend the DJI Phantom 4Pro V2.0 for beginner pilots who do not have another drone, or for people who do not have the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. If you would love an advanced drone that you will stay with a long time without the need for upgrading, this is it. You may also buy this drone if you are a professional photographer or videographer, but make sure you buy an extra battery or two for more shooting time.
Conclusion and Recommendation
Frankly, this is one of the best drones in the market. It can be used by professional photographers as well as beginner pilots. It looks very stylish in its white color and the titanium and magnesium alloy construction makes it durable and worth having. High quality videos and photos, many flight modes, long range and long flight time make it worth having for anyone. Note though that the DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 does not come with the DJI goggles. You will have to buy those separately, but they are definitely worth it.
