The LYZRC L900 is a small, foldable and affordable quadcopter that comes with advanced features such as 5G image transmission. Therefore, you can access live video feeds on your smartphone, using the app, from a long distance.
That is not all, because this drone also comes with wind resistance level 7, which means it can do well in a shore breeze.
This drone also supports many flight functions that make it so easy to fly for beginners. Some functions such as surround mode are for fun and hands-free flights while others such as aircraft retrieval and one key return functions are for safety. We shall look at them in detail later.
But there are two “downsides” if we can call them that. First, this drone does not come with batteries and secondly, it does not come with a remote controller.
You will have to get those separately, which is more trouble than is necessary.
Also, some users have complained that while it is advertised as a 4K camera drone, the resolution of the photos does not really come down as 4K. Rather, it looks more like 1080P.

Design and Build Quality
The LYZRC L900 drone is foldable by design. When unfolded for flight, it measures 12.6 by 12.6 by2 inches. When folded for storage, it measures 5.1 by 3.9 by 2 inches, which is small enough to even carry in your jacket pocket without any trouble.
The weight of the drone is 213.8g. While this is not the takeoff weight, even with the battery included, the drone still weighs less than 250g so you will not need to register it with the FAA if you are in North America.
It is available in gray, orange and black color. The manufacturer has used high quality ABS plastic material, which is tough and light in weight.
The L900 Pro comes with brushless motors. They do not consume too much power. Also, they give a better flight performance than the brushed ones.
Camera Quality
This is advertised as a 4K camera drone with a photo resolution of 3840 by 2160 and video resolution of 1920 by 1080P. The camera has a wide angle of view at 120 degrees. The vertical angle of the camera is also remotely adjustable by up to 90 degrees.
With a 50X zoom, you can bring objects closer to take clear shots of them. This helps a lot for people who love taking pictures of things outdoors.
The drone also supports first person view, up to a distance of 600 meters. This is half the overall flight range of the L900 Pro, which is 1200 meters.

Remote controller and batteries
While the drone does not ship with these two items, you can still buy them on BnagGood. It uses a 7.4V/2200mAh LIPO, which can give up to 28 minutes of flight time. For more money, you can order the L900 Pro with one, two or three batteries and with the remote controller too.
The remote controller that you will get to use with this quadcopter has a small LCD screen to display vital statistics such as the voltage remaining, distance, height and speed of the aircraft. It also comes with a built-in rechargeable battery and although it is a low mAh one, it can last you up to six drone batteries.
Flight Functions
As a beginner quadcopter, this one comes with a good pack of flight functions that make it so easy to fly. Here are some of them:
GPS positioning
Whenever you see this function in any drone, just know that it is included to let you know where the drone is all the time. It also helps to enhance precision when hovering, which helps when you are taking photos and videos.
Surround Flight
If you spot a good landmark and you would like to capture it in your aerial footage from all angles, you should engage this flight function.
Optical Flow Positioning
This one helps the drone to hover steadily when you are flying it indoors. Without this function, the drone would keep running into walls anytime you fly it indoors.
Altitude Hold
You just have to fly the drone forward and concentrate on taking good footage. It will hold the same altitude throughout the flight.
One key return
Any time that you need the aircraft to return home, just press the one key return and it will immediately turn and come back from the place you launched it.
Intelligent follow me
In this mode, the drone has facial recognition so it can pick you from a crowd and follow you wherever you go. The follow me range is 30 meters.
MV functions

Who Should Buy the LYZRC L900 Pro?
It is a good, albeit a bit expensive beginner drone because it comes without a remote controller or a battery. Thus, you have to top up the advertised price to buy the two items.
Apart from that, it is very easy to fly; it handles well thanks to the brushless motors. It also has a decent flight range with different speed modes. As a beginner, you should fly it in low speed mode and then try the faster speeds later.
As an advanced user, you will not be too bored because it has some interesting functions such as 50X zoom, MV function and others.
Conclusion and Recommendation
Before you get to fly the LYZRC L900 Pro, find a large open space where you won’t spook animals or people.
Also, mini drones do not have obstacle avoidance systems, thus, you need to fly them in obstacle-free areas.
Read the user manual to find out how to calibrate the aircraft. Also, start flying on the low speed mode until you gain some experience.
Of course, you will need to order a remote controller and battery to fly it. In fact, we recommend that you get two or more batteries.
