The YKRC YK47 comes with strong motors and long-lasting batteries. Such a combination is rare to find in this price range.
If you are looking for your beginner drone, you might find the price a bit too high on this one. But no price is too high if the features and in this case, the flight functions, can justify it.
So, is the YK47 quadcopter worth the money that you will pay for it? We can only tell when we look at the features in detail. But to give you a sneak peek, the camera has a 50X zoom! How cool is that!
The flight time from one battery is quite good if it can get to the advertised flight time of 28 minutes. There are many more features.
There are also a couple of downsides, which we like to mention beforehand so that you can decide whether this is the item for you. One downside is that the remote controller does not come with a rechargeable battery.
The price is also a bit too high as compared to most other drones with similar features. For instance, the Ruko F11GIM that we reviewed earlier has almost similar features and its price is about $100 cheaper.

If you are looking for a drone that can take excellent aerial footage and fly really well, you might strongly consider getting the YK47 after you see its features.
Design and Build Quality
First, this is a folding drone. This is good news for people who love to travel because this one packs so easily. It also folds intact with all of its parts, so you need not unscrew the blades.
When unfolded for flight, it measures 15.6 by 15.6 by 3.4 inches. When you fold it, the size reduces substantially to 11.6 by 3.1 by 3.4 inches.
The drone weighs 612 grams. Therefore, you will need to register it with your country’s civil aviation authority before you can fly it.
This extra weight is good though because it makes the drone more stable in the wind. In combination with the powerful motor, the drone can keep a pretty straight line when it is flying in the wind.
The fuselage of this aircraft is built with high quality plastic (ABS). This material protects the drone from shock damage if you drop it. In case it crashes with an obstacle, the interior electronic parts might survive.
This is a good-looking drone with a nicely streamlined shape so that it can cut through the wind easily. It has beautiful LED lights that mark its position nicely when you are flying it in low light.
The YK47 comes with brushless motors. You can expect a powerful performance and even if you buy a third battery (the drone comes with two), the motors will fly through it without overheating.
Camera Quality
You can depend on this camera to take high quality photos, what with the 4K (3840*2160P) camera, with a wide field of view at 120 degrees. It also has an adjustable vertical angle of 90 degrees.
To store your photos in high resolution, you need to use a TF card and this drone supports one.
You can also shoot videos in 4K resolution at 30FPS. The camera has also been equipped with a 50 Times zoom, so you can bring distant objects closer.
The zoom function also removes the fisheye effect, giving you high quality footage all the time. By removing the fisheye effect, it means that the wide-angle camera will take footage with straight lines instead of curves.
The camera also has a 3-axis gimbal, so it keeps the footage free of distortion. As your drone flies, it vibrates and shakes. Without a gimbal, such would create distortion in your footage.
In addition to the 3-axis gimbal, this drone also comes with EIS – electronic image stabilization. If it slants, the computer does quick computations to right the angle of the camera so that there is absolutely no distortion in your footage.
This drone also has FPV capability. Just use your smartphone and the app to see what the quadcopter can see as it flies.
Battery and Flight Time
The YK47 quadcopter comes with two batteries. These modular batteries charge outside the drone. You can also fast-charge them if you use the provided PD charging cable. It can take about 60 minutes only to charge one battery fully.
One battery is going to give you a flight time of 28 minutes, at least, that is the advertised time. Collectively, you can get 56 minutes of flight time, which is quite a great deal.
These are smart batteries because they show you the remaining voltage so that you can know when to bring the drone back home. There is no need to worry about that though because the drone will come home automatically if the battery drains.
Remote Controller
The remote controller is sleek, small and has a beautiful and uncluttered interface. It also has a small LCD screen at the center that lets you see important stats such as drone height, distance, battery voltage and other things.
With all the features, you would expect the remote controller to come with a built-in rechargeable battery, but it does not. It uses AA batteries. This is a bit of a let down, but it is what it is.
Even with the simplistic design of the remote controller, you get all the keys that you need to engage certain functions when you are flying the drone remotely.
Flight Functions
The YK47 is costly, so you expect it to come with many flight functions. It does not disappoint since it packs quite a good number of them.

GPS and GLONASS Positioning
Single GPS positioning is good, but dual GPS is even better. With GPS and GLONASS, you can be sure that your YK47 drone will never get lost. You can fly the drone with confidence knowing it is safe.
Auto Return Home
This function works courtesy of GPS. If the battery runs low or the drone loses signal, it will turn back and come home automatically. It connects to the GPS module in your smartphone and it will never get lost.
Optical Flow Positioning
With this function, you are going to enjoy stable hovering from the drone even when the GPS is disconnected. Thus, you can take stunning video and photo footage.
Way Point Mode
Get this drone to fly along a pre-flight path. Just open the map interface on the app and draw a route that you would like the quadcopter to follow. When you launch it, it will follow that route.

This is a good drone with more pros than cons. However, the price is too steep to pay for a beginner drone. Thus, it is best to buy the YK47 if you have some experience. Beginners tend to abuse drones too much and so if there will be serious crashes, you want it to be with an affordable drone.
Because of the high quality camera and the stable motors, experienced drone pilots will not find this quadcopter boring.

This is a good drone, shows good performance and remains stable. All the same, do not fly it in any sort of wind. Even drones with automatic return to home do fly away with gusts of wind.
