NEHEME NH330 Drone Review

NEHEME NH330

Buying the first drone to learn how to fly is always a big decision. You do not know whether to go for a highly priced Potensic, DJI or Holy Stone, or to find the cheapest one in the market. Mostly, people want to start with something cheap and then after they cut their teeth in flying drones, they get a bigger one. If you are a beginner pilot or you want to get your kids started in the drone hobby, you might want to try the NEHEME NH 330 drone.

This is a small, actually, a nano drone. However, unlike many small drones that we review here, it does not come with a camera, which we think is a downside. In this age, everyone wants to get a footing in aerial photography. In any case, many mini drones, even some within this low price range come with cameras, albeit low-resolution ones.

Apart from that one downside, this pocket drone checks many boxes. Keep reading as we look at its features and technical details in the upcoming sections.

NEHEME NH330 Features & Technical Details

No matter how low the cost of a drone is or how small the size is, you should never buy one without knowing all of its features. You still need to get good value for your money even when you buy a low cost quadcopter like the NH330.

Design and build quality

This is a small, pocket drone that is not foldable. It measures 3.7 by 3.5 by 0.8 inches and it weighs a meager 32 grams. You do not need to register it with the FAA. Better yet, when you need to fly it outdoors, you just pop it into your pants or jacket pocket and you never feel the weight.

By the default design, the propellers have guards. If there is a crash, as is most likely to happen with small drones, the blades will be safe. This drone comes with four spare propellers. If one breaks, you can replace it. Just follow the instructions in the user guide. It also comes with a screwdriver, so you won’t need to buy one.

This drone comes in blue color, but there is a red one too. It has blue, white and black paint on different parts of the body. Also, the drone has delightful LED lights that will help you a lot when you are flying it in low light.

Nano drones such as this one come with small, brushed motors. However, because there is not that much weight to the drone, it flies well enough even with the motors.

When you get the package, you should ensure that it comes with the NEHEME NH330 mini drone itself, two batteries, remote controller, user guide, screwdriver, charging cable, and four spare blades.

Modular batteries

The NH330 comes with two modular batteries, so they charge outside the drone. They are small capacity 3.7V 300 mAh batteries. Each is going to give you a flight time of between 5 and 7 minutes.

If you fly the drone at high speed, the battery will last about 5 minutes, mostly less. If you fly it at low speed, it can go for the full 7 minutes. Since this small aircraft can also do rotational flights and 3D flip stunts, it can consume more battery power when you engage in such antics.

These are safe batteries for kids. They cannot overcharge. The charging time for each battery is 30 to 45 minutes so you will not have to wait too long.

Remote controller

The 2.4GHz remote controller is nimble, light in weight and very responsive. The overall control range is 120 feet so the drone will always be in your line of sight.

This remote controller uses three AAA batteries, which you have to buy separately since they are not sold with the drone.

By design, the remote controller is so simple. It does not have a clutter of buttons on the face, since it only has the throttle and direction control wheels at the top.

It also has an on/off button and just one more button, which is for the one-key takeoff and landing function. The buttons and the wheels are blue while the rest of the remote controller is black.

Flight Functions

Small and simplistic as it is, the NEHEME NH330 nano drone is equipped with a few flight functions. Your children will have fun flying the aircraft. It comes with the following modes:

Throw to fly

This is a fun way to start the drone. Just press the On/Off key and then toss the drone to launch it. It helps you to get started on your flight without wasting time.

One key take off and landing

This performs the same function as the throw-to-fly mode. When you press this key, the drone takes off and hovers at a height. If it is flying and you press the key, it will land on the ground immediately. This helps to take guesswork out of the picture about how to fly the NH330.

Three-Speed Modes

This quadcopter has three speed modes. These are low, medium and high. It is best to start at low speed to preserve the battery and to learn how the aircraft flies. Later, you can try the faster speeds.

360-degree rotation and 3D flip modes

These are fun features since doing horizontal flights alone on a drone can be monotonous and boring for kids. Engaging the 360-degree rotation mode will have the drone spinning/rotating in the clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. You can get it to make flips in the forward, backward, left or right directions.

Please note that engaging these fun modes will consume the battery faster, but it is definitely worth it. Besides, you get two batteries!

Altitude Hold

The NH330 comes with what is called auto-hover mode. What this means is that when you get your hands off the remote controller, the drone automatically hovers at whatever height it is. While the hovering might not be too steady, it does not matter since you are not taking footage.

Feedback from NEHEME NH330 Owners

I bought this drone for my 9-year old son on his birthday. He has been having fun flying it in our yard. I am glad the flight range is short enough. Pavez A.

This drone seems to fly so well indoors but I have been having control problems whenever I try to fly it outdoors. Does anyone else experience the same? Erick W.

My 7-year-old son has crashed this drone into the walls of my basement a few times and it comes out intact. We fly it there because we have the space and we are not ready to fly it outdoors yet. Lenny A.

I bought this drone at a discount on Amazon, at a low price. I would recommend it to anyone especially because it has such a good hover, flies well and has two batteries. Nick R.

Fast charging time, two batteries, automatic hovering and many other features but after a few flights, I was already bored and was ready to get a bigger, more advanced drone. I suggest you get this one for kids. Chris M.
